Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123 invites parents to attend a Board of Education “Meet & Greet” on April 11 at 6:30 pm at OLHMS. The purpose of this time is for members of the community to meet with both current and prospective members of the District 123 Board of Education. The “Meet & Greet” will take place before the regular Committee of the Whole Meeting that evening. Refreshments will be provided.

Please consider attending The Seniors & Family Health Safety Expo on April 8th to learn more from local health agencies and leaders committed to better serving the Oak Lawn-Hometown community by providing various resources and information that support both healthy children and a healthy community.

SPRING PICTURES are on Thursday March 23rd!  All students will be photographed, either with their Sward siblings or individually.  Parents must return the “sibling request” form for group photo.

The SMILE MOBILE DENTIST is coming to Sward on Thursday 4/20/17!  Dental care remains the greatest unmet health need among U.S children.  If you have not received a form, contact the school today and one will be sent home with your child. RETURN FORMS NO LATER THAN 3/24/17. ******************************************

The Sward Yearbook committee is working on a new format this year that will allow parents to CUSTOMIZE two pages of their child’s yearbook with photos from their personal computer, Facebook & Flickr. PLEASE NOTE:  ALL YEARBOOK ORDERS WILL BE MADE ONLINE THIS YEAR. Whether you want to customize pages or not, you MUST ORDER your child’s yearbook ONLINE.  All orders must be made online by April 1st.

It’s EKLIN MADNESS at Sward School this week!  It’s a full week of SPIRIT DAYS to show our love and admiration for Mrs. Eklin!!  Here is the run-down:

Wednesday, March 22 is Disney Day, wear your favorite Disney gear. T-shirts, Mickey ears, etc.

Thursday, March 23 is Dress Your Best for Mrs. Eklin (it’s Spring Photos Day also!)

Friday, March 24 is Wear your Sward Spiritwear to celebrate Mrs. Eklin’s years of service to our Sward Community.

Thanks to all the parents who returned rsvp forms!  We have reached the maximum number of people who can legally be allowed in the gym, therefore we cannot allow any Walk-In families that evening.

CHECK-IN begins at 6:00 p.m. Please remember NO FOOD or (personal) DRINK is

allowed in the gym. PTA will be providing water.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  On April 7th, Sward School will host a live museum called “Pioneer Living”!  Students will be able to participate in a hands-on, activity-based museum that engages students in the real lives of children back in the 1800’s.  We’d love to have parents/adults assist us with these activity stations.  Here is the schedule:

8:45……grade 1                9:45……grade KDG

10:45……grade 2              12:05……grade 3

1:05……grade 4                2:05……grade 5
